The 'In A Box 3' Chernobyl experience
What is the experience?
Quite simply, it's the most immersive virtual-reality experience in the world, or at least we think so. And so will you. Participants will wear a headset and backpack, and be taken to another world as they participate in the story, while our technology stimulates their senses of hearing, smell, and movement into overload.
How long does the experience last?
We've designed this experience to last between 45 & 55 minutes from Kit on to Kit off. We appreciate however that some teams may be quicker due to excellent communication skills and team work and conversely, some teams may be slower due to the opposite effects. We are starting a WALL OF FAME for those that can complete the experience in under 35 minutes however some recent changes should make that 'virtually' impossible. How long will it take you to come back to the surface?
Do I need to book in advance?
We are happy to accept walk-ins on the day if there is availability, however, we strongly recommend you book online in advance to avoid disappointment.
What is the minimum age for taking part?
For our first storyline, Chernobyl - Hidden Depths, we ask that participants are at least 14 years old.
Can I take part if I have a medical condition?
Please read the "Safety of Participants" guide and contact your doctor for advice before participating in this experience if you have health concerns.
Can I take part if I'm pregnant?
We do not recommend this experience if you are, or think you might be pregnant.
Do you sell food and drink, and can I drink alcohol before participating?
We have a bar on site that sells a range of alcoholic, non-alcoholic and soft drinks along with some bar snacks. We recommend you do not drink alcohol before participating. Anyone who is obviously under the influence of excess alcohol or drugs will not be able to take part in the experience, for their own safety. You are not permitted to bring your own food or drink onto the premises.
What shall I wear? And are there any lockers for my stuff?
We recommend smart casual but comfortable clothing for the experience, with flat shoes. There are lockers provided at a charge of £1. Tracksuits and sportswear are not permitted in the bar area.
Can I wear my glasses?
Yes, you can wear your glasses inside the headset, although you might find that contact lenses are more comfortable, if you have that option.
How many people can play at once?
Our experience works on teams of 2-4 players. You can book for up to 8 players, however, you’ll be split into groups of max 4 playing either sequentially or in parallel.
I'm on my own. Can I still play?
The minimum group size for our experiences is two.
Can I book for more than 8 players?
We are happy to help you book for groups larger than 8 people, for private parties and corporate events. Please use the “Contact Us” form to discuss your requirements.
Are refunds offered?
Like a cinema or theatre, we do not issue refunds. We may be able to offer a new booking time and date, depending on the circumstances.
If any member of your group has COVID-19 symptoms or are isolating having come into contact with someone who has COVID-19, please rearrange your booking via the “Contact Us” form and if possible, by 5pm on the day before you are due to participate.
